7/16 Bi-stable Solenoids

All Brandstrom Instruments COTS 7/16” solenoids are manufactured at our Ridgefield Ct. USA facilities.

  • This design is meant to be mounted on the thicker collar portion of the housing utilizing a light pinch clamp type holder
  • If using your own attachment, the mass should be no more than 10 grams and be balanced about the center of rotation.
  • When the Bi-stable solenoid is energized with a pulse, the shutter rotates from the start position to the secondary position. It will remain magnetically latched in the secondary position until an opposite polarity pulse is applied, returning the shutter to its starting position.
  • We also manufacture our line of COTS shutters that are designed to fit the 7/16” solenoids. These can be found here.

7/16 Self Restoring Solenoids

All Brandstrom Instruments COTS 7/16” solenoids are manufactured at our Ridgefield Ct. USA facilities.

  • This design is meant to be mounted on the thicker collar portion of the housing utilizing a light pinch clamp type holder
  • If using your own attachment, the mass should be no more than 10 grams and be balanced about the center of rotation.
  • The self-restoring solenoid is magnetically latched in its home position until it is energized, then the shutter will rotate to the secondary position and remain there until power is removed, allowing it to return to the home position.
  • We also manufacture our line of COTS shutters that are designed to fit the 7/16” solenoids. These can be found here.

Note: If using your own attachment, make sure it is no more than 10 grams in mass and is balanced about the center of rotation. We do offer a line of standard shutters for these units.

On the ‘no flange’ unit it is designed for a pinch clamp around the thicker portion of the body.

This customer used a 3D printer to make their own holder. We are a custom manufacturer and as such can design around your requirements if a stock solution will not suit your needs. You would just need to supply the geometry requirements.
