LOW OUTGAS SOLENOIDS

Brandstrom Instruments has provided low outgas solenoids for numerous low outgas/high vacuum applications.

These applications require that we comply with restrictions on certain materials and that our devices for these applications contain no silicones.

We can configure all our standard solenoid/shutter solenoids to be applicable for Low Outgas applications, as well as offering some standard COTS items as well.

Our Low Outgas Solenoids only are dimensionally the same as our COTS standard solenoids and as such are compatible with out standard shutter offerings

7/16" Bi Stable Low Outgas Aerospace Solenoids

All Brandstrom Instruments COTS 7/16” solenoids are manufactured at our Ridgefield Ct. USA facilities.
  • This design is meant to be mounted on the thicker collar portion of the housing utilizing a light pinch clamp type holder.
  • If using your own attachment, the mass should be no more than 10 grams and be balanced about the center of rotation.
  • We also manufacture our line of COTS shutters that are designed to fit the 7/16” solenoids, these can be found here.

7/16 Aerospace Low Outgas Self-restoring Solenoids

Brandstrom Instruments COTS 7/16” Low Outgas Self-restoring solenoids are manufactured at our Ridgefield Ct. USA facilities.
  • This design is meant to be mounted on the thicker collar portion of the housing utilizing a light pinch clamp type holder.
  • Self-restoring requires power to be applied to rotate from position 1 to position 2 and remain in place until power it removed rotating it back to position 1.
  • Power consumption is designed to be under 1.5 W so device can be left energized without overheating.
  • If using your own attachment, the mass should be no more than 10 grams and be balanced about the center of rotation.
  • We also manufacture our line of COTS shutters that are designed to fit the 7/16” solenoids, these can be found here.

3/8 Aerospace Low-outgas Bi-stable Solenoids

​All Brandstrom Instruments COTS 3/8” solenoids are manufactured at our Ridgefield Ct. USA facilities.
  • This design is meant to be mounted on the thicker collar portion of the housing utilizing a light pinch clamp type holder.
  • If using your own attachment, the mass should be no more than 8 grams
    and be balanced about the center of rotation.
  • We also manufacture our line of COTS shutters that are designed to fit the 3/8” solenoids. These can be found here.
