Since switching to the Brandstrom shutter, we have moved from worrying constantly about shutter failures to not worrying about shutters at all. The Brandstrom shutters successfully completed a 6 week Limited User Test (LUT) Hawaii and Development Testing (DT) at White Sands Missile Range with no reported shutter failures. The shutter hardware was subjected to temperature ranges from -46° C to +70° C and live fire weapon shock profiles for M4, M16, M240, M249, M2, M34 and Mark19 systems. This demonstrated performance was directly attributed to the Brandstrom Instruments shutter, and has enabled a program decision to transition the thermal weapon sight to the Qualification Reliability Growth Testing Phase. The Brandstrom shutter has been instrumental in meeting the deployment of proven weapons sights this year.
